Police
It is the mission of the Wagener Police Department to professionally protect and serve to reduce crime in the town of Wagener, SC.
In an emergency, call 911. Do not call the office, town hall or police office for an emergency. Calling 911 will get a message to our officers faster than calling the town office. It is the quickest way to dispatch an officer.
An emergency is any situation that requires immediate assistance from the police, fire department or ambulance. For help determining these situations see the links below.
Public Notice: Starting January 1, 2020, the Town of Wagener shall commence enforcing town ordinance violations for properties being in poor condition (i.e. abandoned vehicles, debris/discarded items, overgrown vegetation/downed tree limbs).
Please maintain your properties to prevent any potential fines being imposed.
Public Notice: Section 14-201 Posting on Public Property. It shall be unlawful to place any advertisement, business, political or otherwise, or any notice or sign of any nature on public property within the town, by the use of a placard, picture, paper, circular, printing, or by any means of device whatsoever.
Section 14-202 Posting on Private Property. It shall be unlawful to place any advertisement, notice or sign of any nature on private property without written consent of the owner or lessee of the property.
SCDOT Pothole Hotline: Please call all potholes into SCDOT at 855-467-2368. SCDOT will call back notifying the caller within 48 hours that the hole is repaired. SCDOT does not drive around looking for issues, they depend on the public and Law Enforcement to report any problems or issues on the roads. When calling be prepared to give the precise location, with the closest intersection to the problem roadway area.
Well-Being Checks: The Wagener Police Department has reinstituted well-being checks, a system in which a registered town resident receives a weekly visit from a police officer just to check up on their well-being. Officers will visit with the resident and ask if there's anything he or she needs weekly and after a severe storm. In some situations, this has proven to be a life-saving service. The well-being checks are advantageous to a small town. A resident must call the town hall to be placed on the list for a well-being check.
Drug and Alcohol Treatment: There are 108 South Carolina Alcohol and Drug Rehabilitation centers and facilities. Find a drug and alcohol treatment center near you here.
