Wagener Voting at Courtney Senior Center
November 8th is Election Day, be sure to get out and vote if you have not done so in the early voting period. Voting in Wagener will be held at the Courtney Senior Center, 49 Roy Street. If you are not sure whether you vote in Wagener or elsewhere, you can look up your polling place here. For more election information, go to SCVotes.gov.
WSHS Groundbreaking Ceremony

A MOMENTOUS EVENT! Shovels pitched sand into the air today for the ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Wagener-Salley High School. Students, parents, teachers, interested citizens, and elected officials flocked to the site. I celebrated with those in attendance, as the Aiken Standard reported:
“You'll have the last old high school, and you're going to have the first and the best high school in all of Aiken County, is that not something...”Taylor said. “You're going to have a grand new high school ... you citizens are the ones who kept pushing this. It wasn't elected officials or even appointed officials or anyone else. You citizens kept this up forever and ever. You got what you want, and it's coming soon.”

ACPSD Mega Hiring Event in Aiken
The Aiken County Public School District will host a district-wide MEGA Hiring Event on Saturday, November 5, from 8-12 at Aiken High School. All schools and locations will be represented at the event, and they will be hiring for all positions to include immediate vacancies and future 2023-24 positions. Future teachers (December and May graduates) as well as educators interested in joining ACPSD next school year are encouraged to apply.
AARP Smart Driver Class at Courtney Senior Center
Safer driving may save you money. Take the AARP smart driver classroom course and you could save money on your car insurance. The AARP smart driver class will be available in Wagener at the Courtney Senior Center on Nov. 5, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
$20 for AARP members, $25 for non-members.
