Willie and Carolyn will take our Wagener area kids to swim at the Aiken County Rec Center pool on Wed. July 12th (rain date July 19th) from 9 - 3.  Spaces are limited and will fill first come/first served.  Ages 7 & above only and children need to know how to swim.  Fee is $7.00 and this covers swim fee, lunch and transportation.  Bring swim suit, towel and sunscreen.  Bus leaves Roy Warner Park at 9 am and returns at 3 pm.

Staff members will chaperone trip on a 25 passenger bus.  Life Guards will be on duty, however, if your child can't swim, he or she cannot go.

Olde Towne Preservation Association will be featuring Ongoing Living History Demonstrations so bring out the whole family for a day of fun and education! Join us for a bit of history on the last Saturday of each month from January through November. Perry Hill, the Backwoods Cabin, will be bustling with activities of the 18th century. This is not a big event and allows for lots of interactions with the interpreters. During moderate weather (90 degrees or less) interpreters will be there from 10:30-4:00. During June, July, and August they will be there from 10:30-1:00.

Regal Cinemas is doing their $1 Summer Movies. In Aiken: Week 2: June 13 & 14 Trolls & Alvin and the Chipmonks. Week 3: June 20th and June 21st, Monster Trucks and Penguins of Madagascar. Both movies will play on both days! A portion of the proceeds goes to Will Rogers Institute.

The Aiken Aquatic Art Mermaids and The Fermata Club will be teaming up to offer synchronized swimming opportunities to the Aiken community. On June 16 at 7 PM there will be a synchronized swimming demonstration at The Fermata Club (841 Whiskey Road) to show and explain various strokes and stunts as well as perform several routines to music. The demonstration is free and open to the public.
